Waterproofing of the base and slopes of the settling pond. 

Construction of an impermeable barrier: the base and slopes of the settling pond are cleared of large soil particles, after which a waterproofing layer is installed to ensure the facility's watertightness.

The material that provides complete watertightness and protection against the effects of waste products, including those of anthropogenic origin, is Geomembrane TYPE 1 — a smooth sheet made of virgin  high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) with stabilising additives.
