Geogrids SD, SO, ST

The main application of geogrids is the reinforcement of various structures incorporating layers of untreated granular materials (crushed stone, gravel, slag). Installing geogrids beneath such layers improves the performance of structures and reduces the amount of material required. 

Geogrids are used in the construction of roads and railways, airfields, ports, warehouses, heavy-truck parking areas and other sites designed for high loads. The material is used to reinforce shoulders, widen carriageways and protect against rockfalls.

The use of geogrids slows or prevents the formation of ruts, cracks, frost heave and potholes, and reduces construction, maintenance and repair costs.

The main purpose of geogrids, like that of other reinforcing materials, is to distribute dynamic loads evenly, thereby slowing or preventing damage to the road surface. Another useful property of the material is that it prevents the interpenetration of discrete pavement layers and ensures reliable interlocking of crushed stone.

Geogrids reduce the need for traditional materials by increasing strength and reducing layer thickness. They save time and financial resources during the construction and repair of sites exposed to high dynamic loads. The material increases intervals between repairs, extends the service life of the site, and reduces maintenance and repair costs.
 

We supply several types of geogrids: SD, SO and ST. 

The SD geogrid features rigid junctions. SD geogrids are manufactured by extrusion: a solid polypropylene sheet is perforated and stretched at high temperature. The SD geogrid offers increased strength and is suitable for reinforcing the base of road pavements and structures on weak soils.

The SO geogrid, with long, narrow ribs oriented in one direction, offers high tensile strength. The ST geogrid is a flat triaxial geogrid for reinforcement in the construction of roads and areas subject to high dynamic loads.
