Agriculture

The use of geosynthetic materials in agriculture addresses technological and environmental challenges: the construction of impermeable barriers at livestock farm lagoons, and the creation of average daily regulation basins (БСР) and irrigation system channels.

Standard Solutions

Lagoons on livestock farms

The construction of manure lagoons addresses the issue of manure storage and disinfection against parasites. The environmental safety of lagoons is a relevant concern for livestock complex owners. To prevent manure from entering the soil and groundwater, lagoons must be constructed with a seepage-control liner made of geosynthetic materials.

When designing lagoons, factors such as the livestock population and the volume of water used for manure removal, the location of the livestock complex in relation to populated areas, and the climatic conditions of the area must be taken into account.

A seepage-control liner made of a waterproofing geomembrane completely isolates liquid waste, preventing it from entering the soil and underground water sources. It addresses the issue of water body contamination and air pollution caused by ammonia and hydrogen sulfide emissions. The geomembrane is resistant to aggressive biochemical environments and ultraviolet radiation, ensuring environmentally safe agricultural operations.

Irrigation systems

An irrigation system is a set of specialised hydraulic structures for collecting and transporting water to an irrigated area. It includes natural water bodies, average-daily regulation reservoirs (БСР) and irrigation canals.

The use of geosynthetics is relevant in the construction of average-daily regulation reservoirs (БСР) and irrigation canals, with the geomembrane serving as the primary material. A geomembrane seepage-control liner completely eliminates water leakage due to the material’s watertightness and also increases the structure’s flow capacity, as the material’s smooth surface has low adhesion, preventing the settling of sand, soil deposits...

Temporary access roads to agricultural facilities

Experience with the use of mobile road surfaces by «ТЕХПОЛИМЕР» shows that the construction of temporary access roads and platforms is also relevant in agriculture, for example, to sites where agricultural exhibitions and other outdoor events are held, or to construction sites involving heavy machinery.
