Waterproofing of the ash and slag storage facility at Primorskaya TPP

Installation of a waterproofing system for a new storage facility for waste generated by coal combustion at a thermal power plant, to prevent the infiltration of hazardous substances into the soil. 

Waterproofing of the ash and slag storage facility base with the «Бентотех АСЛ» bentonite mat, in which bentonite clay is placed between woven and nonwoven geotextiles bonded to a 0.8 mm thick geomembrane. A barrier made of this material prevents toxic substances from entering the soil beneath the storage facility.  

The cut-off curtain made of Геошпунта, installed around the perimeter of the ash and slag storage facility, blocks groundwater and prevents erosion of the site base. 

The slopes of the drainage ditches were reinforced using a three-dimensional geogrid, which follows the surface profile and provides erosion protection for the embankment.
