Task
Strengthening the slopes of roadbed embankments and ditches, as well as effective water drainage and infiltration into the soil.
SolutionThe standard solution is to use the volumetric geogrid «ТЕХПОЛИМЕР» — a three-dimensional synthetic geogrid consisting of polymer strips bonded together in a staggered pattern by ultrasonic welding.
In its working state, the volumetric geogrid forms a modular cellular structure designed to retain fill materials. Soil is used as the fill material at this site, but sand, crushed stone, concrete, etc. may also be used.
The flexibility of the material allows it to be secured while following the surface profile, forming a drainage channel when reinforcing a slope. The geogrid cells with compacted fill form a unified structure capable of withstanding significant pressure and loads.
Before the volumetric geogrid was installed on the slopes and drainage ditches, geotextile was laid to separate the layers and provide drainage.
Benefits of the Technology- High load-bearing capacity due to consolidation of the backfill soil
- Provides soil resistance to erosion and protects the slope from landslides and collapses
- High corrosion resistance
- Increased resistance to dynamic loads
- No road construction equipment required
- Reduces construction costs and increases structural reliability
