Project Description
One of the key modernisation tasks was to protect the aeration tanks—special reservoirs where biological wastewater treatment takes place.
The upper part of the reinforced-concrete structures of the aeration tanks is exposed to the risk of gas corrosion, biological activity and temperature fluctuations, which can lead to concrete deterioration and reduced facility performance.
Technical SolutionsTo prevent corrosion and extend the service life of structures, a reinforced concrete lining technology using a blue polymer anchor sheet V-LOCK was applied.
AdvantagesResistance to chemical exposure. Polyethylene protects concrete from aggressive environments, such as carbon dioxide, ammonia and organic acids.
Strength and durability. Polymer sheet lining significantly increases the strength and durability of reinforced concrete structures, reducing the risk of their deterioration.
Reduced maintenance costs. Structures protected with polymer sheets require less maintenance and repair, helping to save costs.
