Waterproofing of the base of heap leaching pads and settling ponds at a gold mining operation 

A material that provides complete watertightness and protection against washout —  geomembrane type 5/1, consisting of a smooth polymer sheet made from virgin polyethylene with a protective and drainage coating on one side. The choice of material is determined by the characteristics of the site subgrade. Geotextile protects the geomembrane from damage caused by sharp inclusions in the soil.
