  • Task

Installation of a seepage barrier lining on the bottom of an irrigation canal for transporting water to the irrigated area.

    Solution

An anti-filtration layer made of geomembrane with a signalling layer, preventing water loss through complete waterproofing and increasing the structure’s flow capacity.

The signalling layer helps detect damage to the geomembrane that may occur during installation, without the use of special technical equipment. If the integrity of the coating is compromised, the inner layer becomes visible in contrast to the signalling layer. This property of the material improves waterproofing quality by enabling timely detection of damage.

To protect the geomembrane from punctures, the channel bottom is cleared of sharp inclusions, compacted and covered with a layer of nonwoven geotextile.

    Technology Advantages
    • Simple and fast installation
    • Elimination of water seepage losses
    • Prevention of erosion of the structure’s foundation and slopes
    • Non-toxic and environmentally safe material
