Biomats for Lawns

TEXPOLIMER biomats perform two tasks at once: they green the area and reinforce the soil. The material also offers advantages over manual seeding and rolled turf.

Advantages of lawn biomats:

— seeds are protected from birds;
— the grass cover grows evenly;
— the material is easy to install;
— the organic fibre decomposes in the soil.

Lawn biomats

A biomat is a geocomposite mat made of two layers of nonwoven organic fibre, with perennial grass seeds and nutrient mixtures between them. This is a fully organic, biodegradable material that meets modern environmental safety requirements.

Lawn biomats are ideal for soil reclamation and landscape design. The seeds are located between layers of nonwoven organic fibre, making them inaccessible to birds. With manual seeding, birds eat the seeds, causing the lawn to grow unevenly.

The advantage of a lawn biomat over turf is its simple installation. To install the material, simply place it on the site and cover it with 1–2 centimetres of soil. When installing turf, a special roller is often required.

Lawn biomats are available for purchase at any time of year — they can be purchased in winter and stored until installation. The storage period is several years, depending on the conditions. Turf is available only during the season and must be installed within 24 hours of purchase; otherwise, the shoots will die.
