The article presents modern technologies for reinforcing slopes and embankments using concrete-filled mats, as well as drainage structures for collecting and discharging groundwater.
An integrated solution for reinforcing engineering structures – concrete-filled mats.
The «Tekhpolimer» concrete-filled mat STO 56910145-031-2020 is an envelope made of high-strength woven geotextile with nodes, used as flexible formwork. The mat is filled with a concrete mix using pumping equipment, forming a monolithic structure of specified dimensions and configuration. Depending on the design load of the facility, the required mat strength can be achieved by changing the composition and volume of the concrete mix. The mat’s geosynthetic fabric is practically impermeable to water and provides excellent protection for the concrete against the destructive effects of moisture and chemical reagents.
Applications of concrete-filled mats:
- Erosion protection of slopes with a high inclination angle (up to 1:1)
- Reinforcement of bridge and overpass embankment cones and slopes
- Reinforcement of road and railway slopes
- Construction of flood protection structures
- Reinforcement of river and canal beds
- Protection of underwater pipelines
Drainage structures – collection and discharge of groundwater.
Vertical drains are a fast and reliable solution for drainage systems designed to accelerate embankment settlement and reduce the consolidation period of weak soil in the foundation. The consolidation of weak soil is accelerated by reducing the seepage path of water expelled from the foundation under the weight of the embankment.
«BlokTekh» – prefabricated polymer reservoirs for water storage and infiltration into the soil. In the «BlokTekh» drainage system, geotextile is used as the covering material to prevent siltation, while layers of nonwoven geotextile with a geomembrane are used to prevent soil waterlogging. The design features of the «BlokTekh» system make it possible to assemble reservoirs of any configuration within a short time without using heavy lifting equipment.
