As part of his working visit to the Tver Region, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev paid particular attention to the implementation of the reform of municipal solid waste management (MSW).
During his working visit to the region, Dmitry Patrushev reviewed the reclamation of the MSW landfill on Bezhetskoye Highway in the Kalininsky District of the Tver Region.
The landfill reclamation design provides for the facility to be equipped with an active degassing system. Flaring units for biogas utilisation have already been installed.
At present, specialists are landscaping the area and installing a surface stormwater collection system. For this purpose, polymer water conveyance channels, equipped with durable cast-iron grates, are being installed.
Dmitry Patrushev reminded his colleagues that the President of Russia had set the task of ensuring the complete sorting of MSW throughout the country by 2030, reducing its landfilling by half, and directing at least one quarter of the total volume into secondary use.
The Deputy Prime Minister noted:
«The situation currently varies across federal districts. In Central Russia, more than 82% of municipal solid waste is already sorted. This indicator in the Tver Region will need to increase significantly over the next six years. The implementation of the relevant infrastructure development plans will continue במסגרת the new national project, «Environmental Well-Being».
The meeting participants reviewed the MSW reform and discussed the results achieved and future plans.
