12–14 December, specialists from the TechPolymer Group took part in the International Exhibition and Forum “ECOTECH 2017” at the Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre in Moscow, held as part of the Year of Ecology in Russia.
The event was held to demonstrate equipment and materials for environmental protection, environmental technologies and innovative developments.
This year, particular attention was paid to municipal solid waste landfills in the Moscow Region, the remediation of which began following complaints from local residents at the request of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
A multi-stage system of TechPolymer geosynthetic materials was used to conserve many of these facilities. It includes layers of geomembrane, bentonite mats, drainage mats, and reinforcing geogrids and geonets. This system provides reliable, long-term protection of soil and groundwater from the effects of landfill leachate and also prevents its formation.
At its stand, the TechPolymer Group demonstrated a model of a new municipal solid waste landfill and the remediation of an existing facility.
