Construction has started in Primorsky Krai on a road bridge across the Tumen River, connecting Russia and the DPRK. The crossing will be 830 metres long (plus a 2.4 km approach to the bridge as an extension of the «Ussuri» highway).
Vertical drainage technology using geosynthetic drains – a key solution for stabilising the foundations of the bridge approach roads. Strip geodrains conforming to СТО 56910145-046-2021, with a total length of 500,000 linear metres, are installed in water-saturated soils, accelerating consolidation and increasing their bearing capacity.

- Shorter consolidation periods for weak soils – accelerated construction
- Increased embankment stability due to higher effective stresses
- Minimised risks of settlement and deformation of the road surface
The facility is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026. The project demonstrates the effectiveness of geosynthetic solutions in large-scale infrastructure projects.
