At the site of major repairs to the Asha–Kropachevo highway, there was a risk of erosion of the flood-prone slope adjoining the river. Bank protection was required to ensure durability and resistance to flooding, while preserving the aesthetics of the natural landscape known as the “Ural Switzerland”.
Riverbank protection technology using concrete-filled mats
Concrete-filled mats by “TechPolymer” were selected as the primary solution. These are geotextile containers with a fixing system that form a strong protective monolith after being filled with an injection mixture.
How the technology works

Mat installation: The panels are placed on the slope, precisely following its profile.

Filling with the mixture: Concrete grout is pumped into the mats under pressure.

Structure formation: Excess water and air are removed through the pores of the geotextile, ensuring dense and rapid concrete hardening.
