The use of mobile road coverings is not limited to off-road conditions. For example, St Petersburg State Public Institution “St Petersburg City Parking Management Centre” used TechPolymer MDP to create a temporary platform that increased the area of the public transport stop on Sportivnaya Street during mass events, thereby increasing its capacity.
The installation of the platform near the stadium on Krestovsky Island was initiated by the Committee for Transport Infrastructure Development of St Petersburg and involved creating a solid pedestrian surface covering 300 m2 that did not damage the ground.
The temporary platform was deployed within the shortest possible time thanks to the modular concept of the mobile road slabs. Their design was specifically developed to create a non-slip surface with a special texture that removes dirt and water from the covering.
In addition, as a demountable system, TechPolymer MDP can be reused by St Petersburg municipal services to create temporary access roads and pedestrian areas whenever necessary.
