Vertical drainage technology – a modern solution for strengthening foundations and accelerating the consolidation of water-saturated soils. This method is widely used across various industries and offers a number of advantages.
Operating principle
Vertical geodrains (СТО 56910145-046-2021) are strip drainage elements made of a polymer core wrapped in filter material. They are installed in the soil using specialised equipment (Stitcher platform), providing:
✔ Accelerated water drainage from weak soils
✔ Reduction of consolidation time by dozens of times
✔ Increased foundation bearing capacity
✔ Effective extraction of biogas from the municipal solid waste landfill body
Technology advantages:
- Fast installation
- Durability and resistance to aggressive environments
- Shorter filtration path
- Guaranteed drainage
- Accelerated construction progress
- Ability to install drains to depths exceeding 45 metres
- Ability to carry out work at any time of year
Vertical drainage technology has already been successfully used at a number of facilities, including an international project to construct a bridge across the Tumen River, which will connect Russia and the DPRK, as well as the reconstruction of a drawbridge across the Pregolya River on the Kaliningrad–Sovetsk section.
