Major rehabilitation of a twin-cell culvert has begun using PipeArm technology

22 June 2026

The overhaul of a twin-cell culvert using the “PipeArm” technology has started. At km 9 of connecting railway track No. 1 (Khimzavodskaya station – Azotny Park, Samara Region), a major overhaul of a twin-cell water culvert has started. The customer is URALCHEM-TRANS LLC. The works are being carried out using the “PipeArm” technology (developed by TechPolymer Group) with the use of V-LOCK polymer anchor sheet.

Materials have been delivered to the site, and specialists have already begun cutting blanks to form the protective liner.

“PipeArm” technology

A rehabilitation method specified in GOST R 59200-2021 (clause 9.11) and recommended by ODM 218.3.046-2015.

Stages:

  1. Cleaning cavities, cracks and damaged joints between culvert sections.
  2. Installation of a reinforcing frame on the culvert walls.
  3. Installation of a polymer liner made of V-LOCK anchor sheet (HDPE).
  4. Injection of non-shrink grout into the space between the existing culvert and the liner.

Result: a monolithic structure consisting of the “existing culvert – reinforcement – concrete jacket – polymer sheet”.

Key advantages

  • Minimal reduction in diameter – the maximum effective cross-section is retained, which is critical for facilities with high water flow rates.
  • Prevention of further deterioration – damaged joints and reinforcement corrosion are eliminated, and the concrete cover is restored. Service life – up to 50 years.
  • Increased flow capacity – the smooth HDPE surface reduces hydraulic resistance and prevents silting.
  • Works without stopping traffic – embankment removal and track closure are not required.
  • Reduced operating costs – the interval between repairs is extended several times over.

Work status

The polymer anchor sheet has been delivered, and cutting of blanks has started. The works are being carried out at an operating facility with continuous train traffic.

Why “PipeArm” is chosen

The technology is successfully used at facilities of federal and regional importance. Major customers choose it for:

  • maintaining the facility’s operating mode;
  • avoiding embankment removal and dismantling;
  • significantly reducing operating costs;
  • longer intervals between repairs.

TechPolymer Group is the developer of the technology and manufacturer of V-LOCK anchor sheet (TU 2246-003-56910145-2014). The company has many years of experience in the rehabilitation of culverts, hydraulic structures, reservoirs and critical facilities.
