The Federal State Institution “ROSTRANSMODERNIZATSIYA” reported the completion of the first stage of reconstruction of the airfield infrastructure at A.A. Leonov Kemerovo Airport. Modernisation of the Kemerovo airport airfield infrastructure began after Vladimir Putin’s visit to the region in 2021.
The reconstruction of the runway, taxiways and apron is currently being carried out under a project that received a positive conclusion from the Glavgosekspertiza, and provides for 6 implementation stages. The first stage of the reconstruction, which began in February 2023, has been completed. A conclusion confirming compliance with the design documentation has been obtained.
During the reconstruction of the airfield infrastructure, geomembrane produced by “TechPolymer” is used for:
- interrupting the capillary rise of groundwater to the road pavement base;
- protecting against harmful substances entering the soil at sites where de-icing fluid is used.
The geomembrane acts as a shield against processes that damage the soil and road pavement. Ultimately, this results in a durable and reliable road pavement.
– The installation of the taxiway pavement and the construction of the stormwater and drainage network collectors have also been completed. The work was carried out over 6 months, – the ROSTRANSMODERNIZATSIYA statement said.
The reconstruction work is planned to be completed by the end of 2024. During this period, a de-icing fluid treatment area and collection tank, treatment facilities, an emergency rescue station, a training ground, access roads, and replacement and new meteorological equipment will be installed in place of the dismantled equipment, along with other necessary works.
