The reclamation of the municipal solid waste landfill in Sudak is continuing as part of the federal project «Clean Country» under the national project «Ecology».
A working meeting was held at the site attended by Igor Gennadyevich Stepikov, Head of the Sudak City Administration; Andrey Vasilyevich Ryumshin, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Crimea; Yulia Vladimirovna Bobareva, Deputy Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Crimea; and representatives of the contractor.
The contractor is currently working ahead of schedule. Installation of the structural layer made of «Bentoplast» material has begun, storage tanks for wastewater and leachate are being installed, and work on the foundations for the local wastewater treatment facilities has been completed. The biological stage of reclamation will be launched at the end of 2021. Once completed, the 11-hectare landfill will become a green field.
Completion of all reclamation stages will significantly improve the environmental situation in Sudak and have a positive impact on the lives of the people of Crimea.
