A new stage of the Miass River cleanup has begun in Chelyabinsk using TechPolymer geotubes

A new stage of the Miass River cleanup has begun in Chelyabinsk. 

Using a dredger, specialists are removing bottom sediments and directing them into geotubes «TechPolymer» (СТО 56910145-016-2015) — high-strength geotextile containers. Inside the geotubes, sludge is effectively dewatered, after which the treated water is returned to the river and the sediment is safely disposed of.

Technology advantages:

• environmental benefits — complete containment of contaminants;

• logistics savings due to reduced waste volume;

• the ability to carry out work within the city.

The Miass rehabilitation project is scheduled to continue until 2028. Up to 7.5 million m³ of bottom sediments are planned to be removed.
