Reclamation of the TKO landfill “Tsaryovo” in the Moscow Region is nearing completion in Pushkinsky Urban District. The landfill was closed in 2017. Its total area is 21.62 ha. During its operation, more than 4.3 million tonnes of waste were accumulated.
The landfill body has been fully formed, and an impervious screen, a stormwater collection reservoir, a leachate collection reservoir, and a reconstructed drainage collector have been installed. A degassing system and drainage wells for collecting leachate have also been installed.
In 2021, reclamation of three waste landfills in the Moscow Region will be completed: “Tsaryovo”, “Sliznevo”, and “Valtsovo”.
