The modernisation of the Shchyolkovo Interdistrict Wastewater Treatment Facilities in the Moscow Region has been completed. The project was implemented as part of the national project «Ecology».
To protect the concrete from an aggressive environment, the reinforced concrete tanks at the Shchyolkovo treatment facilities were lined with a polymer anchor sheet V–LOCK in blue, manufactured by «TEHPOLYMER». The V-LOCK anchor sheet retains the concrete structure even with significant fluctuations in temperature or pressure. The technology provides reliable protection of the reinforced concrete against corrosion, acids, alkalis, steam and other effects.
Products lined with the «TechPolymer» anchor sheet combine the advantages of reinforced concrete—high strength and rigidity—with the properties of polyethylene (HDPE)—resistance to aggressive environments and high elongation at break.
The facility also introduced a high degree of automation and control of technological processes, installed additional wastewater and gas treatment systems, and implemented a sludge disposal complex. According to information provided by the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Moscow Region, the total area of the developed site exceeded forty hectares. Following the modernisation, the treatment facilities will be able to process more than 400 thousand cubic metres of wastewater per day, providing services to more than 1.3 million people.
